This was my first pregnancy and my husband and I were surprised to find out that we were having twins. We always thought how cute it would be to have twins. The doctors told me at 6 weeks that i was expecting faternal twins. We were so happy but didn't tell anyone until about 13 weeks because we thought it was too good to be true. Still, I had a fairly easy pregnancy (except for the terrible morning sickness). At 24 weeks I had just come back from work and lying in bed. I got up to go to the kitchen where my husban was cooking. On my way back to my bedroom I felt a lot of liquid coming down I really thought I was peeing on myself. I went to the bathroom and it just wouldn't stop. I didn't want to scare my husband but I told him anyways. We rushed to the hospital where they determined that I had pprom. I didn't have any contractions but I was taken to another hospital because the hospital I was in wasn't equip for babies the were that premature. We were happy that I didn't go into labor that night but was ordered to stay the duration of my pregnancy at the hospital on bed rest. Three weeks later I started to have contractions and I delivered two 27 weeks old boys. John ( who was leaking amnotic fluid) was born 1lb 14 ounces and Thomas 1lb 15 ounces. When we saw them in the NICU we couldn't believe how small they were. The nurses later told me that John went into cardiac arrest.

I have been in the hospital since January 3, 2011 and today I have Thomas at home healthy and over 6 lb 11 oz only suffering from a hernia which will be fix in late May. John will be in the hospital a bit longer because ha just got off CPAP but he's doing great at over 5 lbs.

When I was on bed rest at the hospital I was so scared when I came upon these stories on this website. I hope that my story can make someone feel better about their pprom.
