I had PROM at 30 wks 5 days with my son that was born in June 2007.

I found out August 2010 that I was pregnant again. I was just about to turn 40, and we were not planning on having anymore bio kids. We were just starting the adoption process for our foster daughter.
The pregnancy was starting to be pretty bad right from the start.
I didn't have any bleeding, like with my last one. But I started vomiting right at 6 weeks, and was super sick, even with taking Zofran.

I had US's every 4 weeks, and starting at 3o weeks I had weekly OB appointments. By 37 weeks we were failing NST's regularly, and having to have bio physical profiles. My OB originally decided to induce me at 39 weeks, but because of all the failed NST's and since I was super sick, she decided to induce at 38 weeks 3 days.

The induction was not going as planned, after 4 hrs of pitocin I had only dialted from 3 to 4 cm's.
She decided to break my water at that point, and that is when my world collapsed!

When she broke my water, Theo's cord came thru. My OB told me that we had no choice, but do an emergency c-section. And since I didn't have an epidural, and his head was so low, it had to be immidiate and under general anestithia.

The rushed us to the OR, my OB on the bed with me, holding my babies head off the cord inside me!

In the OR she switched with a nurse, so she could go scrub. The nurse stated that his hand had come thru as well. The last thing I remember is the nurse telling my OB to not cut her hand.

I woke up in tremendous pain, but baby Theo was ok, and that was all that mattered at that point.

That was on friday april 8th, 2011. I was released from the hospital on monday april 11th, 2011. I was sick on the day I went home, vomiting, and just not feeling well overall.

Tuesday I felt worse, and had no appetite.

Wednesday april 13th, 2011 we went to the pediatrician for a weight check, and I was sick as a dog. At the office I started to feel really weird, and just about passed out. My pediatrician mentioned that she thought I was having a pulmonary embolism, and called the rapid response team, who came quickly and took me to the ER.

US confirmed a clot in my leg and a CT confirmed multiple clots in my lungs. I was given a shot of lovonox and transferred to my hospital. I stayed there for 2.5 days and started on warfarin.

It's been a week and a half, and I'm stable, and doing a bit better.

I will be on blood thinners for 3 months, and hopefully I will be fine after that.

Baby Theo is wonderful, he was 9 lbs 9 ozs and 21.5 inches long.

I thank God that we both survived, and hopefully can just move on from here!
