Story added: 2011-08-06
My waters broke one morning as I was waking up (17 July 2009). I was rushed to hospital, given steroid injections and told to sit tight. There were no contractions for 24 hours, so they sent me home with antibiotics. About 4 days later I had a show, and was again rushed to hospital. This time I had a few contractions so they gave me medication to stop the contractions. I was then hospitalised for another week or so, given more steroids and kept on antibiotics. They were monitoring bub's size and the amniotic fluid. He was small as I also had hypertension in pregnancy. The amount of amniotic fluid was getting lower and lower, so they decided to do a caesar at 32 weeks. Chris was born 1.2kg. He was doing well, but about a week after being born he developed an e coli infection. He was given strong antibiotics and recovered. He's now a strong 2 year old. He is still small for his size but he's happy and healthy.
