By Kat, Cleveland, Ohio USAMy water broke in bed on October 3rd, 1999...I wasn't due until December 5th. I was admitted in the hospital and kept on strict bedrest, when I had to get up I would lose more fluid. I also was on insulin injections for GD, and Group B Strep positive. They had monitors on my stomach to keep track of the baby. After 2 weeks they sent me home in hopes of carrying out the rest of the gestation. They sent monitors and a computer to send the info via modem to the hospital. A week later I went into labor. After 26 hours of labor and developing Preeclampsia, my daughter was taken C-section. She was in the NICU for a week on antibiotics and jaundice. She is now 5 months and doing great! Current pictures of her and the more detailed story of her journey here is on our webpage.
