This is an update from my first PROM story in May -99 where I suffered PROM and lost my son at 23 weeks 1 day gestation. This pregnancy took 3 inseminations with fertility drugs. After achieving pregnancy I was watched very closely because of the previous PROM. At 18 weeks of pregnancy I was in preterm labor. At 20 weeks I was put on total bedrest and on brethine for the contractions for the rest of my pregnancy. I am happy to report that I did not have PROM with this pregnancy. I was taken off of brethine at 36 weeks and 5 days later I gave birth to a health 51b 15oz baby girl. I can tell you that I was never at peace during this pregnancy and was constantly worried about my water breaking, etc. I did not rest on bedrest and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. It was worth every second!!! So after 12 years of infertility, the loss of my first born son, I finally am a mom to my beautiful daughter Bridgette. Please email me if you would like to talk or need an ear to listen.
