Story added: 2002-05-23
I went into prem labour at 25 weeks that was stopped with Ventolin and again at 28 weeks stopped again. Put on complete bedrest but allowed to go home.

On Sunday 25/11/01 I woke earlier than usual feeling strange and needing to go to the bathroom, did this went back to bed to try and get a little more sleep before going to work. Woke again about an hour later and needed to go to the bathroom again sat up quickly and felt a pop.

Fluid everywhere all over the bed woke my husband wasn't sure what it was or if I may have wet myself. Rang the hospital they said come straight in and they would ring my OB. Rang work told them I wouldn't be in. Packed a bag for the hospital as I knew there was no chance of me coming home. Organised my husband into the shower as he went to a mates 30th birthday the night before and had the first few drinks he had had all pregnancy. Had a shower myself and then organised our dog then drove myself to the hospital via my parents to drop off the dog. The drive is about 40mins took about an hour started having contractions on the way.

Got to the hospital my Doctor wanted a Ventolin drip started to hold off the labour for 24hrs to get 2 more steroid injections in for bub's lungs.

Drip was stopped at 9am Monday morning and at 3.30pm after only 2.5hrs of labour my darling little Zachary entered the world.

His birth stats were:

Date: 26/11/01
Weight: 2025gms or 4lb 7oz
Length: 42cms
HC: 31cms

He screamed as soon as the cord was clamped my husband and mother were there with me and my husband got to cut the cord much to his delight.

Zac's apgar scores were 9 and 9 5 mins apart. He spent 19 days in a Special Care Nuresery and then came home to us before Christams 2001.
