Story added: 2003-02-03
It was 12/31 and I was 27 weeks and I woke up from a sound sleep at 2:00am thinking I wet the bed. It was my first baby so I figured it was normal. I went to the bathroom, changed and went back to bed. I then woke up again at approx 5:00 am I wet the bed again. I figured this was weird so I got up and went to the bathroom again. I then realized that the water was trickling into the toilet.

I called the dr and they had me wait until the office opened at 8:00 am. They said I mostlikely broke my water and I needed to get checked out. I went to the dr and the sent me to the hospital to be put on bedrest.

They did everything to stop any early labor and to help my baby. They gave me so much stuff I had no idea what was going on. All I know was that I was stuck in the hospital to 34 weeks or when I deliver what ever came first.

At 30 weeks and 3 days, I went into labor. There was no stopping my baby this time. I was sent down to labor and delivery and had a c-section.

Mollie Jill was born. She was 3lbs and 11oz. Her lungs were very bad and they thought she hade a infection.

She went directly to the NICU. I only saw her for a moment.

She was very serious and for a few days we did not think she was going to make it. On the 7th day I got to hold her. She was on a ventilator for 7 days then went to oxygen and a feeding tube. She was in the incubator for 4 weeks. She was in the NICU for 2 1/2 weeks and in the Special Care Nursery for 5 1/2 more. Approx one week before she came home she was breathing on her own and she was off the feeding tube.

Mollie is now 12 months old 1/21/03 and is 18lbs 2oz. She still has visits from Early Intervention. But has developed wonderfully. She does not go to daycare and has not had RSV. She is doing well.
