On March 24, 2003 I lost my son at 21 weeks. I had a perfect pregnancy, I had even gone to see my doctor the Tuesday before and things were good. My water broke, I still can't figure out when and on Sunday I told my boyfriend something was wrong. We went to the hospital and by 5:00 pm I was in labour. They couldn't do anything, my contractions had begun and were becoming stronger. I gave birth at 7:20 am Monday morning. It was the worst day. We got to hold our son and even took pictures. I feel like I will never get over this. I keep searching for clues on the internet as to why this could have happened. I had my follow up yesterday and was told that I had an infection and tested positive for Strep B. I would like to discuss with someone who had the same problem. It's so hard to find info regarding this and I would like to know what the chances are of this repeating since he told me there would be no way of treating this in my next pregnancy. I feel really confused and it hurts to know that there was nothing wrong with my baby boy. My body chose to expel the fetus before I got really sick.
