Sheri's Post PROM Story

By Sheri, Lily,KY USA
PROM at 20 weeks + 4 days. Delivery at 21 weeks.
Story added: 2003-07-18
This was my 5th pregnancy. I lost all of my babies, although, only one other one was because of PPROM.
I had a perfect pregnancy this time. No problems at all.
Until I hit 20 wks , I had some bleeding. 4 nights later, My water broke.
I had a few contractions in the hospital. Nothing real painful or consistant, as a matter of fact it stoped completely after day 3. After 3 days they were going to send me home on bedrest. Before they could release me they did one more u/s. The h/b was very faint and they couldn't see all of the baby. Upon vaginal exam it was found that my sweet baby was already half way down into my vagina. Feet first. He had to be delivered. They gave me a superdose of pitocin to get things going. It was so bad I could hardly breath, much less concentrate to push. Then they lowered the pitocin and I had no cramps. So I pushed him out with out any contractions to help me. By the time he was born he no longer had a heartbeat. I was exactly 21 weeks along.
This is my second PPROM loss. The first one I promed at 16 wks and delivered at 18w4d. I am still " unexplained".
