Hello all,

I was getting my hair done one Thursday afternoon in my 27th week, and I got up to leave and GUSH... a huge puddle of water was dripping on the floor beneath me. I waddled to the bathroom hoping it was a loss of bladder control, but it was a clear odorless fluid - I concluded that my water broke. I had to drive myself home to call my husband who was golfing and my doctor. I was taken to the hospital without any labor and it was very overwhelming. I thought that once your water brakes, that the baby would have to be delivered within 24 hours or the baby would die. I soon learned that the body can replenish the amniotic fluid. I received steroids and other antibiotics to keep her in there as long as possible. I felt fine the next day and I was looking forward to a long stay in the hospital - they said up to 6 more weeks. I ended up going into labor 8 days later and our first child, Isabel Faith was deliverd C-section weighing 2 lbs 5 oz. She got down to 1 lb 15 oz a few days later.

She stayed in the NICU for 50 days and now is a bouncing playful and very healthy 14 month old. She is very little and petitie but she will always be a miracle.

There is no explanation for what happened to me. I am optimistic that my future pregnancies will go full term. My prayers are will all the other moms and babies.
