Story added: 2004-01-02
We did IVF after male factor. Our first attempt at IVF was successful - twin boys due 12/8/2003. I had spotting between week 9 through 12. One July 12, 2003 I felt very tired and strange - I used the restroom a lot - I was hungry but could not eat. At 11 am I used the restroom again and my water broke for Baby A- I paged my husband - I called 911 - I was talking to my husband as I was transferred.

At the ER we were told - we would lose both babies only Baby A had no fluid - we need to term the pregnancy. After being transferred to the Mother/Baby Hospital - we were told the same outcome - no hope. We could not term - we worked so hard to be here- Baby B still had fluid - I could feel our babies move - we heard their heartbeats.

Five weeks of bedrest. My husband did everything - our doctors never re-measured the fluid during this time - I believe they gave up.

At 24 weeks, we went in for our visit bags packed - our specialist did the US - he told us both babies had no fluid!!!!! He had me walk up two flights of stairs after bedrest for five weeks- he asked me if I was allowed to walk up stairs - I was in shock & just followed. We still would not give up - two more weeks of bedrest - I would give up walking to have my sons.

I developed blood clots in my left leg - no one told us to do exercises!!!!! I was on heparin for two weeks and a filter was placed.

I started spotting at 25 weeks - light pink.

At 26 weeks, the contractions started. At 26 weeks and 1 day our sons entered this world by an emergancy C-Section. Jacob Gregory lived 15 hours - we will never forget him. William Charles lived 2 days - we could have looked at him forever.

A moment doesn't go by when we don't think of Jacob and William - I long to hold them!!!!!!

We have decided to try again - hopefully in 2004.

We love you BABIES - Jacob and William - my teddy bears.

Love,

Mom & Dad
