My name is Jennifer. I'm 17 years old and PRROM occurred for me in my 18th week. Every appointment that i had gone to they had said the pregnancy was going great. The babies heart rate was always steady and i had no worries. Well, one afternoon my mom left me at home and i happened to be sitting and watching TV just as i always did. Well I thought i was constipated all day long and i kept trying, but i was afraid to strain. Well, my nightmare came true i strained and the water gushed. I knew this wasn't normal so i called the doctor and they advised me to go to the hospital. The doctor seemed to have hope that maybe i would be able to go home and be restricted to strict bed rest until my 24th week. Well, the night before i was supposed to leave the hospital i started to register a fever, and that next morning i began to bleed. The doctor told me that their was nothing that i could do anymore and that it would be best to induce because no matter how hard i tried and even if i went home labor was coming. I gave birth to my first child on Saturday, January 3, 2004. It was a little boy and he was only 7 ounces. I will always wonder why. The doctor gave me no explantion and no cause. If any one had a cause will you please e-mail me. I've only been home for a few days now and i'm overcome with grief. I'm afraid that now that i lost our child the father will leave me. Has anyone that suffered from this horrible experience repeated in later pregnancies? I fear so much that this will happen again, and it's so scary i'm afraid to try. But i want a baby so much. i will never forget my son.
