Hi my name is Georgeann Todd I am just able to sit here and write my story.I was implanted with 2 embryos on Feb 4th 2006 and with a miracle, one of them took. I was told early on I had a subchrionic hemmorhage but it was nothing to worry about. Sometime in May 2006, I was having pains in my stomache and I thought it was probably a bladder infection. So I called the the doctor and they told me to come in to the office that day. When I had gotten there they did some urine test and blood test then sent me over to get a ultrsound. They said the ultrasound looked fine nothing to worry about. I still had not heard anything about the blood work and urine test so I gave them a call 2 days later. They said yes in fact I did Have an infection and they would have to put me on antibiotics. From that point they never told me to come back in to see if the infection went away or not. On the morning of June 5 ,2006 I went in to find out whether it was a boy or girl. The said they could not see the heart because of the way the baby was turned so I would have to come back in four weeks. Then they said with 99% that it was a boy. They told me everything looked great and they will see me in four weeks. Later that night I was going pee and it felt like a cork or something popped out of me. I did not have any pain or bleeding. I went into the computer room and with that I was soaked from front to back with fluid. I called the doctor and they told me to go to the hospital right away. The stupid doctor (the one from the previous month that told me my ultrasound was fine)"Said, the baby just probably kicked you". I got to the hospital and they took me right up and told me I was (1) centimeter dialated and they would have to induce me. They said there was nothing they could do for the baby. So, I told them not to touch me and we will see what happens. So they admitted me into the hospital. They would come in every couple of hours and make me listen to the heart beat. So, finally Wednesday night I started to run a fever and the baby's heart beat started to slow down, so they said would have to be induced otherwise I will be in serious trouble.
So finally on June 8th 2006 at 7:30 pm I delivered Elijah Francis Todd at 19.5 weeks and he weighed 12 ounces. I just want to tell you (if you have any doubts at all) call your doctor no matter what. My problem was, I always felt like I was bothering them. Well the way I look at it now "THAT IS THERE JOB". I am finally going to try again. I just started my estrace pills yesterday(july 18th2007)and they said if everything goes as planned I will be implanted August 4th(3 Saturdays from now. I was just reading over last years reports and I am upset from what I was reading. It says in my ultrasound report "for the next few weeks I would have to have short interval follow- ups, Because I had a small amount of complex free fluid in my pelvis and a mild perigestational bleed". So, between that and my infection I strongly feel that made me lose the baby. For now on, I am requesting a copy from every report. The only person you can trust is you and your gut feeling. If I would have known what the report said you can bet I would have made sure I was seen by the doctor as the reports says. WISH EVERYONE WELL. Talk to you soon and thanks for listening.
