I have two sons 16 and 8. I really was unprepared to find out I was pregnant again. I found out in July. I always knew that this pregancy was different. I was unusually sick and had headaches and migraines especially during 2nd trimester. I really had thought I was going to miscarry in the first trimester but it never happened. I accepted the pregnancy and my husband and I got real excited about it. Any lab work I had done was all normal and looked great. Then one morning while I was in the shower I felt a warm gush of water between my legs, and I thought that can't be what I think it is. SO as I got out of the shower it was like Niagra Falls between my legs. I panicked and hysterically cried. I was praying to God please don't let this happen. I called my husband told him "my water broke I think we are losing the baby!" He was so upset, He told me to call the midwife and I did. She told me to rush to the nearest hospital. I had some adult diapers around and went through 3 of them by the time I arrived at the hospital. They did an ultrasound and saw the baby's foot through my cervix. The doctor came in and explained what had to happen. There was nothing that could be done to save her. Her heartbeat when I arrived at the hospital was 150 bpm. By the time they did the sonogram it was 80 bpm. They said I had to wait for her to die. So for another 2 horrifying hours I waited I had been in labor since my water broke. I knew instantly when she died I called the nurse in to check for the heartbeat and she was gone. They had to augment the labor. At around 6:30 that evening the doctor came in to check my cervix and she said the baby was in the birth canal. So when she comes back I can push. I pushed for what seemed like forever and I knew someting was wrong I looked at my husband and I saw this look of horror on his face and I asked him, "what's wrong?" and the doctor told me to stop pushing otherwise the baby's head would pop off. I was mortified, she was having me push before I was completely dilated. So she told me they were going to up the pitossin and I would have to wait a couple of hours, while she went to go walk her dogs and pick up her kids. I was in total shock. What type of doctor let alone woman was she? There I was lying there with my daughter hanging out of my vagina. Thanks to God another doctor came in and around 9p.m. it was time to push her out. That went well this time, but there was a complication with the placenta it wasn't coming out easily and all of a sudden blood shot out and I was bleeding out on the table. They had to take me into emergency surgery and my hemoglobin went from a 10 to a 4. The doctors told me I had almost died. I not only had to recover from the shocking loss of my daughter Ireland Olivia, but recover for at least a month from all the blood loss. Two weeks after the pathology report came back, I found out there was a twin boy that I had miscarried very early on and this same doctor that macerated my baby's head called me and said that I may have had a partial molar pregnancy and if the dna ploidy test comes back positive for molar pregancy I would have to wait a year before I get pregnant again and I would have to go in every week for urine, blood, and chest x-rays to make sure I didn't have cancer, and if I did I would have to start cancer treatment. That call threw me for a loop. I couldn't grieve normally now and had an influx of so many emotions at that point especially anger. So needless to say the test 2 weeks later came back negative. So I'm all clear to get pregnant again. So we are trying, which is another set of emotions to deal with. I just wanted to say I have been deeply touched by the women's stories. What has helped me tremendously is relying on God for strenth and reading the brochure "When Someone You Love Dies" found on watchtower.org.
